▲ Movensys, a software-based motion control technology company, highlights its Physical AI–driven innovation at IIFES 2025 (Innovative Industry Fair for E x E Solutions Exhibition), held in Japan for three days starting on the 19th.

Movensys participated in IIFES 2025 (Innovative Industry Fair for E x E Solutions Exhibition), which opened on the 19th at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan, unveiling for the first time its next-generation real-time control technology designed to realize Physical AI.

IIFES is Japan’s largest exhibition that comprehensively showcases global leading technologies in industrial and factory automation (FA) and advanced manufacturing solutions, along with digital transformation (DX) strategies. The event is recognized as an international platform for exploring intelligent production systems and maximizing efficiency and flexibility in manufacturing.

Movensys highlighted the accelerating shift toward intelligent and autonomous manufacturing driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies. In response, the company emphasized its software-based real-time control technology and presented its technology roadmap aimed at achieving Physical AI on the shop floor.

Physical AI refers to an emerging methodology in which AI directly learns and adapts within physical environments, enabling autonomous problem-solving and human collaboration in real-world settings. Movensys described its participation in IIFES 2025 as a key opportunity to showcase the full spectrum of technological advancements it has accumulated over the years.

The company demonstrated its next-generation technology vision in three categories. First, leveraging its AI-based integrated control platform WMX-AI, Movensys explained its approach to overcoming major challenges in implementing Physical AI—specifically, its method for closing the Sim2Real Gap between simulation and real-world operation.

Visitors experienced AI-driven capabilities—including prediction, adaptation, and autonomous operation—directly within an actual motion-control environment.

Next, Movensys unveiled Soft PLC for WMX3, its first software PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) compliant with the international programming standard IEC 61131-3, developed for the WMX3 platform. Soft PLC for WMX3 enables high-performance PLC functionality and motion control purely through software, without hardware limitations.

It allows existing PLC users to transition smoothly to high-performance motion control while retaining their accumulated engineering assets and familiar development workflows. The platform supports standard programming languages such as Ladder Diagram (LD) and Structured Text (ST), and integrates both PLC and motion control into a unified system.

The company also demonstrated real-time ultra-precision trajectory control enabled by 31.25-microsecond high-speed communication and cross-coupling control technology. Cross-coupling control minimizes errors that occur when two or more axes move simultaneously in multi-axis motion systems, delivering the extreme responsiveness required for advanced industrial equipment.

Keehoon Kim, CEO of Movensys, stated,

“Entering the AI era, factory automation is undergoing a major transformation. Manufacturing environments are rapidly shifting toward software-based control systems that offer superior flexibility, scalability, and advanced data-collection capabilities.”

He added,

“Physical AI will become a key technology in this transition. The innovations we are unveiling at IIFES 2025 will help prepare the next generation of autonomous manufacturing through the convergence of AI and real-time control.”
