Presenting a New Paradigm of Industrial Automation with AI-Based Motion Control Technology
Movensys, a company specializing in motion control solutions, announced that it has established AX Lab to lead fundamental innovation through AI technology. AX Lab will focus on next-generation technologies such as Physical AI and Agentic AI, and will concentrate on transforming existing PC-based motion control solutions into AI-centered intelligent systems.
Redefining the Physical World with AI

The “AX” in AX Lab signifies AI Transformation, while also reflecting the company’s intention for AI to become the axis that redefines Movensys’ core technologies and changes the physical world. Rather than simply introducing new technologies, AX Lab differentiates itself from existing organizations by leading a comprehensive paradigm shift centered on AI.
Three Core Missions
AX Lab focuses on the following three core areas.
Physical AI and Control R&D strengthens real-time motion optimization and safety through AI that interacts with the physical world, such as robots and machinery.
Agentic AI R&D develops autonomous AI agents that independently make decisions and take actions to perform complex tasks without user intervention.
Realization of SDMC (Software-Defined Motion Control) through AI transformation redesigns existing technologies with cloud, edge, and AI to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
Specifically, AX Lab conducts research on technologies such as LLM/VLM model optimization, data engineering (MLOps), and predictive maintenance, and is currently promoting projects including WMX-ROSe.
Organization Composed of Global Experts

AX Lab is composed of global experts in AI and motion control. It also places strong emphasis on collaboration with academia and industry. In addition, AX Lab is actively promoting cooperation with external ecosystems by sharing a WMX3-integrated ROS2 package, enabling users of NVIDIA’s Isaac platform or ROS2 to utilize it for Physical AI applications.
Customer Value and Vision
Through AX Lab, customers are expected to experience intelligent and safe systems that can detect changes in manufacturing environments in real time and adapt immediately. In particular, autonomous AI agent technology is expected to dramatically improve operational efficiency by minimizing human intervention while maintaining high precision in complex industrial processes.
In the short term, Movensys plans to develop a ROS2 package integrating WMX3 motion control software and share it with industry and academia to establish a foundation for AI-based motion control. In the mid-to-long term, the company aims to open new horizons in motion control through innovative approaches such as agent-based development and management, and to become a pioneer that redefines the physical world with AI.
A Movensys representative stated,
“AX Lab will go beyond simple technology research and serve as a beacon leading the future of the industry at the point where AI and motion control converge. We will build AI-based change together.”
