Q
A
WMX is software and the principle is to use 1 WMX license on 1 PC.
This means that it cannot be used on multiple PCs at the same time with one WMX license.
Q
A
WMX runs on Real-time OS (RTOS).
More precisely, it runs on Real-Time Subspace (RTSS).

Windows and RTOS run independently, and Real-time Priority (CORE) with RTOS assigned is given the highest Windows priority, so you can do real-time processing without being affected by Windows.

In other words, WMX can be processed in real time through RTX without being Windows-agnostic
Q
A

RTOS is installed by sharing the CPU of your Windows PC.

Due to recent technological advances, CPU performance has been improving day by day. For example, using a quad core of a CPU will leave a lot of extra resources in the industrial field, accounting for between 15% and 30% of the total PC resources to process equipment sequences and UIs. This is due to the fact that parallel processing techniques for multi-core are rarely applied.

If the process is processed after RTOS is assigned to 1 CORE to these PC CPUs, it can be separated from Windows for parallel processing. In addition, if RTOS is assigned an additional 2 or 3 CPU CORE, the desired function can be handled independently, allowing the multi-controller to use the CPU's resources to the maximum.

Referring to the figure above, the first core is a sequence of equipment, the second core is motion-only, the third core is vision-processed, and the fourth is GUI-processed to maximize PC CPU resources.

Yes, you can run WMX on a Windows-based PC. However, you must install a real-time operating system (Real-time OS) separately on your Windows PC. When purchasing WMX, a license for the real-time operating system RTX is also provided.

What is EtherCAT?

EtherCAT is a high-performance, low-cost, easy-to-use industrial Ethernet technology with flexible topologies.

With minimal hardware and settings, EtherCAT provides users with cost savings, convenient maintenance and setup, and lightness in the overall equipment configuration.

The interface for connecting the EtherCAT Master Device (WMM3) to the EtherCAT slave requires only commercially available Rj45 Ethernet cables.
No special interface is required, but please check the list of NIC drives that support EtherCAT.
The list can be viewed through the corresponding page (NOTICE – Ethernet NIC Support List).

For more information, visit the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) website, which supports EtherCAT technology.
